Scope
The Starting Point
Initially, I envisioned a simple webpage with a basic layout displaying links. However, I quickly realized that this approach lacked engagement and didn’t make the experience as intuitive or visually appealing as I wanted.
The Process
Arkive Club is built on a carefully structured system that categorizes tools across various fields, making it easy to find what you need. We’ve organized our library into broad sections like design, development, and productivity—each with targeted subcategories. For example, under design, you’ll find collections of tools, portfolio showcases, and inspiration sources.
To solve this, I built a personal dashboard to store links efficiently. The system automatically captures website screenshots via an API, compresses the images using Tinify, and then saves the processed data into Supabase. This streamlined workflow not only keeps my resources organized but also ensures quick access to high-quality previews.
Expanding on this idea, I developed a dynamic platform using Next.js, Supabase, and Vercel, where users can not only browse curated recommendations but also contribute their own discoveries. This ensures a constantly growing collection of valuable tools, shaped by a community of like-minded individuals.
The Outcome
Looking ahead, I aim to evolve beyond a simple collection of links—offering users even more value through new features and deeper insights.
